Welcome to the seventh edition of the IMISCOE Bulletin! This issue is released right before the opening of our 20th IMISCOE Annual Conference hosted by the Centre of Migration Research of the University of Warsaw.
The Bulletin is one of the main communication channels of IMISCOE with its 66 Member Institutes and the wider community of individuals and institutions interested in our activities. It is built around contributions from the External Affairs Committee and the IMISCOE Network Office based at the University of Liège.
In a way to mirror the extensive work the Network, this Bulletin will include several items highlighting the work done by our Network. This includes the announcement of the 2022 Annual Report, some reflections of the BD & EB Chairs on the transition of IMISCOE, an interview with our Junior Network Officer, Angeliki Konstantinidou and a presentation of recently published books.
Additionally, as part of the reflections on the future of IMISCOE, we recommend you read the interesting editorial piece by Laavanya Kathiravelu, who invites us to think about the role of IMISCOE beyond Europe. Similarly, if you are not already member of an IMISCOE Standing Committee, you can also find a brief presentation of our Standing Committees which we invite you to join.
Additionally, to prepare for the 20th Annual conference, we have an interesting interview on the conference topic with one of the organisers, Paweł Kaczmarczy, who will also provide you with nice recommendations for your stay in Warsaw. Also, this bulletin includes a discussion of open science by Laura Morales (who will have a meeting point on Open Science at the IMISCOE conference); news from our PhD Network and their ongoing reflections and activities. Lastly, you will also find more information about the IMISCOE Migration Podcast by Asya Pisarevskaya as they are launching a new season of interviews.
To conclude, we would like to thank the chair of the External Affairs Committee, Ricard Zapata-Barrero, for having prepared this bulletin with the assistance of Eréndira León Salvador.
