The Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space is pleased to announce a position as postdoc researcher (75 %) in the Volkswagen-funded research project „New regional formations: rapid environmental change and migration in coastal regions in Ghana and Indonesia” to be coordinate by Research Unit 4 “Regeneration of cities”.
The position will be funded for 12 months (+ 4 month) beginning January 1, 2016
Fields of activity:
- Empirical research on the role of the Ghanaian and Indonesian diaspora in Europe and the US
- Contribution to the theoretical debate on migrant regimes, migrant trajectories and diaspora research with a focus on environmental issues
- Organizational support for the sub-project on migration
- Presentation of papers at international conferences
- Publications
Prerequisites:
- PhD in the field of social geography, urban studies or migration
- Sound knowledge in the field of migration and integration
- Strong motivation to work in a cooperative and flexible team environment
- Experience with qualitative research and intercultural skills
- Fluency in German, English and a third language, preferably Ewe, Indonesian, or Italian
